Different types of fluoropolymer materials

I. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
Characteristics: High - temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, electrical properties, non - stickiness, self - lubrication.
Applications: It is widely used in downstream industries such as chemical, electronics, machinery, and medicine. It is used to make containers and pumps with high - performance requirements for engineering plastics, as well as high - frequency communication equipment, wireless electrical equipment, etc. It can also be made into a suspension and used as a coating or adhesive.
II. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)
Characteristics: High mechanical strength, excellent wear resistance, good corrosion resistance, and excellent gloss retention.
Applications: It is mainly used in three major fields: petrochemical, electrical and electronic, and fluorocarbon coatings. It is one of the best materials for pumps, valves, pipelines, and heat exchangers in petrochemical equipment. It is used in the coating of metal sheet coils and as an exterior wall coating for buildings.
III. Polyvinyl fluoride (PVF)
Characteristics: High mechanical strength and good weather resistance.
Applications: Interior and exterior decoration materials.
IV. Copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoroalkyl ether (PFA)
Characteristics: It has properties comparable to PTFE and can be melt - processed into products with complex shapes.
Applications: The semiconductor industry.
V. Copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene (FEP)
Characteristics: Compared with PTFE, its thermal performance is poorer, while other properties are the same, and it can be melt - processed and formed.
Applications: Wire coating, films, etc.
VI. Copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and ethylene (ETFE)
Characteristics: Good mechanical strength, electrical insulation, radiation resistance, and processability.
Applications: Wire materials, cables, room - temperature films, etc.
VII. Polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE)
Characteristics: Excellent optical properties, mechanical strength, dimensional stability at extremely low temperatures, and impact resistance.
Applications: Formed products such as valve bodies and pumps, connecting wires for aircraft and missiles, industrial control wires, etc.
VIII. Copolymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene and ethylene (ECTFE)
Characteristics: High mechanical strength, excellent melt - processability, good corrosion resistance, extremely low permeability, and extremely smooth surface.
Applications: Pressurized cables, formed products such as valve bodies and pumps, and linings.
